Dan will touch on why it is so important to select the right seed for the right location. Seed is the foundation of any landscape and choosing the right variety in the correct situation is only going to help you in better management of the turf.

  • Overview of the current status of native bees and wasps in our region 
  • Effects of supplemental pollinator forage habitat on crop production 
  • Basic instruction on how to create a pollinator meadow 
  • The use of herbicides for kill down 
  • Alternatives to using pesticides

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM TICKS with Dr. Alan Eaton, Extension Professor/Specialist-Entomology and IPM Coordinator

  • Learn about 2 types of ticks: the Ixodidae (hard ticks) & Argasidea (soft ticks)
  • Which ones are important to landscapers, farmers, hikers, campers & pet owners
  • How to recognize and control particular species of ticks
  • Learn about tick bites and the transmission of debilitating diseases to people and/or pets
